Public reaction to Big Brother's return to Elstree Film Studios

A NEW series of Big Brother will be made at Elstree Film Studios, reporter Josh Darlingtonasked residents if they were happy to see the return of the show.

Fi-Fi El-Gabaoury, 22, Furzehill Road

“It makes Borehamwood more exciting, it's something to talk about and puts the town on the map. Knowing it's all being filmed just down the road makes you want to get involved.”

Georgia White, 17, Wansford Park

“My friend and I are so obsessed with Big Brother. We want to go on the show. Sometimes when I walk past the house I like to shout stuff out – we will definitely be watching it this year.”

Danielle Wright, 26, Hartforde Road

“It is a pain in the backside. There's too much noise, fireworks, music, lights and people – it's all near my house and it scares my dog.”

Elizabeth O'Gorman, 38, Welbeck Close

“I think it is good fun and good business for the town, but I probably won't be watching as I find it difficult to find the time to keep up with it.”

Lee Hunter, 26, Studio Way - Who has just moved to Borehamwood

“I can't say the prospect of being in the town where Big Brother is filmed sealed the deal for me to move here, but the town could do with being a little more lively.”

Jai Pabari, 35, Barnet Lane

“I don't care how the show effects the town, I think Borehamwood is a depressing place. This is fun, exciting and gets lots of people visiting the area.”

Colin Lawlor, 57, from Borehamwood

“It is great for the town, because it brings lots of business to the shops, but the programme is absolute rubbish. I won't be watching it.”

Whatever people think of the show it is great for Borehamwood to have it based here. Think of all the money that is spend in Borehamwood over this time, keeping people in work too. Anything from the train Station to the mini cabs, hotels shops, etc
