The Reflection Filter Portable vocal booth uses the same basic design as the Pro version, and while it can never be fully as effective as its more expensive big brother, it easily ouut performs copies and for project studio use is just the job. The metal frame is lined with the same patented polyester fibreboard as the Pro version uses for its outer layer. This material has extremely good acoustic absorbtion properties; much better than simple foam products. This is then further link with a high density 'crystal' foam with curved undulations rather the cheaper and less effective ribbed, medium density foams that are widely used by other companies.

After 3 years and many poor imitations of our now industry standard design, we have gone back to the drawing board to produce what many budget concuss customers have so desired... an entry level Reflexion Filter product which actually does the job properly! Due to patents pending on our original design, competitors who have tried to emulate the success of the original RF Pro have not managed to do so successfully since their designs are limited, and as a result, so are their performances.

The Professional Reflexion Filter is a ‘portable vocal booth’, a revolution in recording technology. The Reflexion Professional Filter is a portable device for recording live sources with reduced room ambience. It is an advanced composite wall which is positioned behind any microphone by means of a variable position stand clamp assembly which ships with the product. The main function is to help obtain a ‘dry’ vocal or instrument recording. This is especially useful in studios without proper acoustic treatment, but can also be used to help record takes in control rooms, where the performer also has to operate the recorder, or in rehearsal studios to reduce ambient noise. The Reflexion Filter also helps prevent any reflected sound reaching the back and sides of the mic. Its shape and size have been carefully tested to maximize absorption while keeping ‘coloration’ down to only around 1dB, and leaving the microphone’s polar pattern unaffected.

The Audient ASP008 is a compact, 1U rack mount unit featuring eight ultra high quality mic preamplifiers developed from the renowned mic-pre design used in the acclaimed ASP8024 recording console. It features an 8 transistor discrete Class A front end with extended band-width and a noise floor close to the theoretical Johnson limit. Carefully chosen close tolerance components are used to achieve high CMRR at all gain settings and distortion is minimised to less than 0.001% at 20dB gain and 10dBu output. This outstanding technical performance delivers a mic amp with incredible transparency and detail without colouration or other unwanted artefacts. Each Mic amp also features switchable input impedance, allowing the user to explore the subtle variations in microphone character that are determined by output termination. All channels include an XLR input, soft start 48V phantom power, switchable input impedance, 25-250Hz hi-pass filter as well as line input selection. Channels 1 and 2 also feature a -20dB attenuator and a high-impedance Instrument/DI input on a front panel mounted jack. LEDs provide indication of signal present and overload. Two digital output option cards are available - one with ADAT optical interface, the other with AES/EBU and ADAT. This special bundle ASP008 includes the AES-EBU Digital I/O option card.
